About
OrangeMite Studios is a non-profit grassroots Shakespearean theatre located in South Central Pennsylvania. Since 2008, OrangeMite has continuously provided the community with opportunities to experience all dimensions of music and theater. We dedicate our energy and creativity to developing inclusive and inspiring theatre in many forms.
Mission
The mission of OrangeMite Studios is to involve the greater Dover, Pennsylvania community in high-quality artistic performances brought to life through innovative educational experiences.
OrangeMite's Green Practices
We repurpose and reuse our vast selection of costumes and props across all of our shows, reduce and reuse the number of our printed programs, offer virtual programs as an alternative. Also, we reduce our carbon footprint by eliminating the use of single-use plastics during production.
Ways OrangeMite highlights local ecology through theatre
Our organization strives to highlight local resonance through the practice of adaptation in our productions. For example, in the summer of 2022, we present a new eco-adaptation of "All's Well That Ends Well." Set at the fictitious Camp Wellington, young campers learn from an enthusiastic park ranger about "The Ornithology of Shakespeare." Our audiences will also receive information on local organizations for conservation and ornithology.
OrangeMite Goals
We aspire to create local and original adaptations like the aforementioned. We hope to create and inspire action through these programs based in community and environmental education.
